Happy New Year

I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas.

We have taken the first two days back to 'get back into the swing of things' and are now looking forward to the rest of this term. Hopefully your child has given you a copy of the Spring Term curriculum newsletter.  If not, you can find a copy on the Curriculum page on this site.

A polite reminder to name every item of clothing and please ensure PE kit is in school every day.

Happy New Year!

Very sorry, but we cannot upload our spellings on to the website this weekend as we are experiencing some technical problems. I will give the children their spellings on Monday and update the spelling page on the website once on school premises.  Mrs Ord

We have made our own class rules which are displayed in our classroom. They are:-

1.  Show love by looking after each other.
2.  Look after our class things.
3.  Show our friends where things are.
4.  Care for each other and share.
5.  Speak one at a time.
6.  Listen carefully to everyone.

Please also see our new class prayers by selecting the 'Class Prayer' menu at the top.

Welcome to a new school year!

Welcome back and I hope you all had a really lovely summer.

We have a busy and exciting year ahead of us.  Details of this will be outlined in the Conkers' curriculum newsletter, which will be sent to you next week.

This week, as it is only three days, we will be concentrating on settling in as a new class, working and playing together and understanding or (year 2) remembering our school rules.

A few reminders:
Please name everything that belongs to your child.  This saves wasting time looking for and returning personal items.
Your child's PE kit must be in school every day.
Reading books with the reading record book must also be in each day.

There will be some changes to the school routine, which will be sent to you via the school's weekly newsletter, so please look out for this on Parentmail.  If you are not registered with Parentmail, you will receive a paper copy.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you,

Mrs Ord

Well I hope you've all had a good break.  We look forward to the summer term and have our fingers crossed for good weather so we can take our learning outside.

Please remember our trip to Bekonscot Model Village on Friday 28th April.  If you haven't already done so, could you please give permission for your child to go.

We will also need some parent support on our trip.  If you are available to come with us, please could you let either myself or the office know...many thanks.

Happy Easter!

The children have worked very hard this term and I know that they need their well-earned rest.  Hopefully they have remembered to bring everything home with them, including PE kits, lunch bags/boxes and any clothing that may need refreshing (such as outdoor kit).

Please could I ask you after Easter to remind the children to learn their spellings as many of them are unsure of them when we test them on Friday.  This is the case for my group, Mrs Price's group and Mrs Charlton's group.  It is also really important that they know what their spelling words mean, otherwise it will not benefit them when learning them.

It is equally important that all of the children continue to read regularly and, preferably, with an adult.

If you have not replied regarding the trip on Parent Mail for Friday 28th April, please could you do so as soon as possible so that we know who is coming and who cannot come.

Finally, I would like to thank you all for your continued support and wish you a happy and peaceful Easter holiday.

Welcome back,

I hope you had a lovely Christmas break and are ready for a busy term.

I am delighted to be back with Conkers and look forward to celebrating the children's achievements this term.

Don't forget to always have a warm coat this term as the weather is bound to be cold and wet and we still plan to go outside for both playtimes and learning times.

Look at the spelling pages each week for the spelling words and sounds we are learning and don't forget to practise these at home regularly.
