This week the children have been busy learning about finding the fractions of a shape and amount. We had fun finding 1/2, 1/4, 2/4, 3/4 and a whole. On Friday we showed our understanding by covering a rectangle slice of bread with Nutella (yum!). We also used marshmallows to find half of a quantity. The children certainly enjoyed this style of learning.
We also showed off our writing skills by describing the characters from The Enormous Crocodile. The children worked in pairs to use the computers to type up their sentences and changed the size and type of font. Great work Conkers!
We have a very musical class of children who have shown confidence writing musical notation. The children are able to identify crotchets, quavers and minims and play the chime bars and xylophones to demonstrate this.
